| WHY WE'RE SO SPECIAL _______________________________HOME Philosophy Little Scholars of Oxford believes children learn best by interacting with peers and adults in an enriched, stimulating, and consistent environment. Through group and individual activities, each child is encouraged to develop emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectuallly at his or her own pace. Caring & Qualified Staff The director of Little Scholars of Oxford is degreed in Early Childhood and has a number of years of experience working with young children. The teachers are professionally trained in the field of child development/early childhood education. The staff participated in continuing education activities including workshops, courses, and conferences. Staff are CPR and First Aid trained. Convenient Location Little Scholars is conveniently located on Baldwin Road between Oakwood and Seymour Lake Roads. Oxford school buses pick up and drop off right at the Little Scholars building. ____________________________________________________________ WHAT WE OFFER______________________________________HOME Infant/Toddler Care _______________(2 weeks - 2 1/2 years) Mature qualified staff initiate routines such as diapering, eating, sleeping in a relaxed reassuring, and individualized manner based on developmental needs. Teachers plan with families to provide a positive experience for the child. Child Care (Including Pre-School) _________(2 1/2- 5 years) A daily schedule provides a balance of activities in consideration of the child's total daily experience. There is also a balance of child-initiated and teacher-initiated activitites. Young 5's ________________________(3 years and 4 years) This program is for children who are chronologically old enough to start kindergarten, but may need the extra year of additional learning. Latch Key ______________________________(School Age) Available before/after school and during school breaks for the child that needs a little extra supervision. Our qualified staff provide exciting age-appropriate activities as well as homework assistance if needed. Summer Camp ___________________________(3-12 years) A time for children to come together with friends to experience good times and adventure under the supervision of a qualified staff member. Drop-In Care ______________________(2 weeks - 12 years) For the parent who finds himself or herself in need of assistance, we offer quality care for all ages based on current availability. ____________________________________________________________ DAILY ROUTINE ______________________________________HOME The daily routine at Little Scholars of Oxford is designed to provide opportunities for children to explore materials both independently and in small groups with their peers. Each activity serves a specific purpose, but is also designed to be flexible to give children choices and to be responsive to individual needs. Gross Motor Skills. Climbing, jumping, building block, etc. Fine Motor Skills. Drawing, painting, cutting, lace cards, etc. Sensory Exploration. Water and sand play, playdough, etc. Intellectual Activities.
